About Lärarnas a-kassa
Lärarnas a-kassa is not an unemployment insurance fund for everyone, it’s specifically for those working in education. We specialise in supporting teachers, which means we have the knowledge and experience to give our members the best possible help and guidance.
If you work as a teacher, guidance counsellor, principal, or in any other role within education, you are welcome to join Lärarnas a-kassa. You are also eligible if you are studying to become a teacher, are self-employed in the field of education, or if you are a church musician.
About the compensation
How much money you receive in benefits depends both on how much you have earned and for how long you have been a member.

Click here to fill out a membership application online. If you don´t have an e-identification, you are welcome to contact us and we will help you.
Switch to us
We can help you with the transfer so that the duration of membership from your former unemployment fund is accounted for when switching to us. Continue to pay you membership fee from your old a-kassa until the transfer is completed.
Only 150 kronor per month
Membership in Lärarnas a-kassa costs 150 SEK per month. The fee is the same for all members, regardless of income, student status, or parental leave. Our membership fee is low compared to other unemployment insurance funds in Sweden.
You are also entitled to a tax deduction on the fee, which effectively means you pay only 112.50 SEK per month.
Payment
You can pay the fee via direct debit (autogiro), e-invoice, or regular invoice. If you have chosen a regular invoice but have a digital mailbox, your invoice will be sent to you through Kivra.
Extra income insurance
If you are a member of a union, such as Sveriges Lärare, you can receive additional monthly compensation.
